Bronzeville S1E1 - "Pilot/Arrivals" | AI Drama Series

An AI drama series about three ambitious Black households—each of a different economic class—trying to plant new roots in Chicago’s eclectic Bronzeville neighborhood after leaving the 1930s South. Episode 1 is the pilot where we meet the main characters. HISTORY: This series is inspired by my family history. Each main character is very loosely based on my ancestors' stories, discovered through genealogy research. Between 1910 and 1970 millions of Black people migrated from the South to northern cities like Chicago. Usually, when they arrived, they were restricted to certain areas and neighborhoods. In Chicago it was Bronzeville, where different classes of Black residents built what would become known as the "Black Metropolis." Tracing my genealogy, I realized that most of my ancestors who arrived to Chicago from the South landed in the same area--Bronzeville.
